Go Back Home

This afternoon, I'm going home. I haven't been home in TaoYuan for three weeks. I actually miss my family, specially my younger brother, and the fruit which couldn't often eat in the school.

This week I will spend much money to buy the facial care product, and I must be eat much, and sleep a lot which are so happiness things in the world!!!

Lovely home I’m coming!!!!!!!!!!

Sickness.

After I came Hiahchu, I had many different sicknesses like cold, fever, dizzy, Meniere's Disease, and so on in this year. In the pass, I often said, "I seldom go to see the doctor even my friends around me have sick. I have a healthy body." BUT now I couldn't say the word like before.

Couple days ago, I was sickness again that causes I couldn't go classes for two days. The sickness is Bladder Inflammation. I want to go restroom all the time, and the urine was RED that means my urine is with BLOOD! I was shocked and go back Taipei to see the doctor immediately. (because I don’t believe the medical skill in Hsinchu, and I though the doctors in big hospital see the patient in haste that I have bed experiences in Hsinchu)

Thanks god, I get well soon after take some medicines.
I promise I never dare to hold the urine.

P.S. Sorry, Jeff. I didnt come to class in Tuesday morning. :(

Movie: Cape No.7

Many people said the movie is so excellent. The accumulated box-office in Taipei is up to 215 million that is miracle of Chinese Movie. Lots of people said they saw the movie in the theater for 3 to 5 times that is so amazing to me. Because I don’t ever saw that!! I think an important element to its box-office success is in the film's honest depiction of daily life in southern Taiwan that it is close for every one.

This is the trailer of the movie:

If you have interesting about that, you can go the theater to see the all. I think I will rent the DVD to do home. In fact, I still don’t want to pay the ticket to see the Chinese Movie, even if it is excellent film. :P

Academic Honesty Questions

Questions 1:

In Taiwan, lots of people judge one person depends on the score and the school. It is the important reason for the students wants to cheat. When you look for the career, the human resource manager depends on the school is good or bed which is point you have the job or not. If you have great school, you will be hired. If you have worst school, you don’t have any chance to be hired. It is ridiculous thing because some people have great ability to work or do something well but they have bed score in school, so they want to cheat for higher score, for the higher chance to get the job. Most reasons are they want the higher grade, but they don’t have ability to get even they are study hard. I know some people who cheated before, but I didn’t see they do the thing recently.

Questions 2:

Giving a fail score, and expelling from the school are the punishments in Taiwan. In the same time, the thing will be written down on the transcript. And you have the mark that means the mark will tell the person who looks at the transcript you are cheating person. I think we can give the fail score and expel, but we should give the person who was cheated the second chance. If the thing was written down on the transcript, the person can’t be given the second chance to change anymore. Every one will be judge the person is bed guy. So I think we can give the fail score and expel from the school, but we can’t written down the reason why the person give a fail grade or expel from school. When we punish the person, we should teach some lessons about the cheating for him/her that it is a way to avoid the person do the same thing again.

Questions 3:

The standard about judging the person in the society need to be changed that should not depends on the score or the rate of school that the problem will be solved. But we know it is hard to change. Before the standard is change, I think the way to solve the problem is quit the quizzes and assignments, which use the paper. The teacher would test their students in using the oral test one by one. In this way the student could not try to cheat because they don’t have way to cheat in front of the teacher.

the penalty for Plagiarism

The penalty for plagiarism at Stanford University?

The standard punishment for a first-time violation is a one-quarter suspension and 40 hours of community service. The student would be given one-quarter suspension into a two-quarter delay in the conferral of the degree, if his final quarter of enrollment the standard practice

Six punishment for Plagiarism at University of Washington

  1. Disciplinary Warning: verbal or written notification that the student has not met the University's standards of conduct, and that a repeated offense will result in more serious disciplinary action. It is not the case that first offenses automatically receive a warning; most first offenses receive a stricter response, with warnings reserved for cases with unusual mitigating circumstances.
  2. Reprimand: a written statement censuring a student for violating University regulations, and stating that another offense will result in more serious action. This is normally considered a lenient response, even for first offenses.
  3. Restitution: requirement that the student compensate the University or other persons for damages, injuries, or losses. Failure to comply results in canceled registration and a hold on future registration.
  4. Disciplinary Probation: an action that places conditions on the student's continued attendance at the University, including the statement that further violation of University policies will likely result in dismissal. The Committee fixes the term and conditions of academic probation. First offenses often result in probation.
  5. Suspension: a written statement notifying a student that his or her enrollment has been suspended for a specific period of time for violating University policy. The statement includes the terms and length of the suspension, as well as the conditions for re-admittance.
  6. Dismissal: a written statement notifying a student that his or her attendance at the University has been terminated for violating University policy. Unlike suspension, dismissal is considered to be a permanent action. However, the institution may also provide conditions for re-admittance.

Fired for Plagiarism Examples

  1. Winston L. Frost, his article titled “The Development of Human Rights Discourse: A History of the Human Rights Movement” included large portions of text lifted from the Encyclopaedia Britannica and a 1983 paper by legal scholar Jerome J. Shestack.
  2. A veteran political reporter on Sacramento Bee who admitted to taking quotes and information from other newspapers and making up comments attributed to a non-existent author. Dennis Love, 46, had been covering the presidential election.
  3. Madonna G. Constantine, the former professor of psychology and education at Columbia University’s Teachers College who was fired of plagiarism because he had plagiarized the work of two former students and a former colleague
My opitons for the punishments
I agree with the punishment because they who were plagiarize need more time to learn what is illegal, what is not. Every student had to do their job well- study that they can’t use the material and Internet to copy and paste for assignments that the act is not responsible. When they have one-quarter suspension or two-quarter suspension, they should think about their behavior and feel regret.

Maximilian Hecker - Help Me

This song, Help me, is my favorite recently. I was heard in the bookstore, Eslite, couple weeks ago. When I heard the song, I love it immediately. The melody is soft and comfortable that can relax the whole physiology and psychology in the midnight.

Its lyric is very very short.
The lyric is below:

You’re leaving me a thousand times
But you don’t know
You’re healing me with your touch
But you don’t know

You don’t know

Help Me
